Shall we set the scene a little?

Let's call this Blog 1...
I thought it might be an idea just to draw breath and, before getting fully into a "proper Blog entry" or whatever, just chill & chat? I'm listening to Richard Ashcroft's new album Lovin' You on Spotify as I type. Anyone else out there like Richard? I've always thought he was really cool, and a very talented singer & writer, ever since the days of the Verve. I almost have to listen to him in secret at home, as my wife Fiona is not a fan. Quite how she can't be is beyond me...he's great, isn't he?!
I just love it when an Artist strips things back a bit, usually playing acoustic guitar, and you get to enjoy a clearer rendition of songs that lend themselves really well to this style of performance. My favourite example of this is Paul Weller's album Days of Speed. If you've not familiar with it, I'd massively recommend it, I just love it. (I'll put links a the bottom of the page).
In fact, the first track of the Weller album is called Brand New Start...which when it came out, I took up as a sort of theme song for me, I took it to heart, telling myself this what I need to do - make a brand new start in many areas of my life....I need to sort my life out...get more done! So much needs doing and I'm not doing it! I'm saying to myself as, if truth be told, many years later I'm still thinking the same. Probably will when I'm 85! Anyone else feel like they do the the same?
